Abu Dhabi, a destination of wealthy tourists, is getting a new attraction: A new water park called Yas Waterworld - a suitable pastime for this very hot geographical location on the planet.
Spread over 15 hectares, the waterpark will feature a thrilling range of 43 rides, slides and attractions. Four rides are one-of-a-kind rides that have never been seen in a water park before.
Visitors follow the story of a young Emirati girl on a quest to find a legendary pearl as they make their way around the attractions, which include a souq and pearl-diving exhibit. There are also areas for children.
The park features with the 238-metre long, world's first, and largest hydromagnetic-powered, six-person tornado waterslide. For adrenaline lovers there are three-metre high waves on Bubble's Barrel, which has the world's largest surfable sheet wave for flowboards and bodyboards.
Bandit Bomber features on-board water and laser effects. Riders can shoot jets of water at targets, drop water bombs and trigger special effects. People below can spray them with water. The Liwa Loop has a retractable platform. It drops out from beneath the riders' feet.
Hamlool's Humps and Jebel Drop are two extreme body slides that plunge through rock crags. Hamlool's Humps gives riders the feeling they are airborne. Riders of Jebel Drop can enjoy an amazing view of the park at the top of the attraction.
